Linda D.
(she/her)
MÖV CANDLELIGHT Restorative, MÖV Slow Flow
Linda’s classes are rooted in the mind-body connection. She encourages her students to slow down, listen to their bodies, and make peace with stillness. She is deeply focused on responsible alignment and movement (having healed many of her own physical injuries through Yin yoga). In her class, you’ll feel encouraged to know and trust your body, rather than run from it.
How did you find your way to yoga?
I started doing hot yoga about 20 years ago when an injury caught me by surprise. Little did I know it was the universe's way of teaching me—a Type A person—to slow down and heal. I started with Yin and loved it so much that I decided to get my teacher certification, eventually training in other formats like Barre, which I love for the intricate muscle movements that make me stronger.
What should we know about your background?
I've been teaching yoga for about 15 years—a journey that helped me realize the power of stillness, being IN my body, and quieting the mind. Much of my teaching style is rooted in my own experience recovering from injury through yoga, and working through the emotions that come up when we hold postures for longer periods.
What else should we know about you?
I’m originally from The Bahamas and have lived on the east coast and west coast, and now happily live in the Midwest. When I moved here, I felt like this was my true home. My dog, Matcha (like the green tea), loves it here too. He brings so much love, joy, and peace into our lives, especially when he gets so excited to play with new toys.
